Ah yes, Avant Garde Jazz...always a crowd pleaser. I'm not sure what your take on this is but if you are into it, you should check out the Bad Plus. Same kind of thing but it swings a bit harder. Or even better, the Art Ensemble of Chicago. Also check out Schoenberg. No swing but interesting.
